South Dakota Coordinated Public Transit-
Human Services Transportation Plan

Welcome to the project website for the South Dakota Coordinated Public Transit-Human Services Transportation Plan. Through this effort the South Dakota Department of Transportation (SDDOT) is leading the development of regional plans that will be incorporated into a statewide plan. This project website is being used to highlight outreach events and to post planning documents for review by you and other stakeholders.

Coordinated transportation plans are required for funding through the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Enhanced Mobility of Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities (Section 5310) Program administered by SDDOT. Coordinated transportation plans identify mobility needs and potential improvements in each region — particularly for older adults and people with disabilities. SDDOT is working with the KFH Group and Olsson, national firms that are currently leading the SDDOT Statewide Intercity Bus Study, and who have led similar statewide efforts across the country. They will be facilitating the overall planning process.

Through a series of recent workshops local stakeholders provided their input on transportation needs and possible improvements. Please see below for recordings of these workshops.

Draft plans are now ready for review by clicking on the area page(s) of most interest to you.

Your assistance in this effort is critical, and we appreciate you taking the time to participate in efforts to improve mobility in South Dakota. Please contact the following SDDOT or KFH Group representative if you have any questions. We also encourage you to forward information on the coordinated planning process to others that may have a similar interest.

If you couldn't attend our meetings or want to revisit those discussions, you can find all the recordings in the tabs below.
